Burnley ended their three-game winless streak in the Premier League following their 2-0 victory over Watford at Turf Moor on Monday night.

The Clarets enjoyed most of the ball in the opening stages of the game but struggled to carve out any clear-cut chances in front of goal, while Watford spent most of the time on the backfoot.

However, in the 37th minute, Burnley broke the deadlock when Jeff Hendrick rose well to head home from a corner to score his first goal for the Clarets.

The score remained 1-0 in favour of the home side as the sides went into the half-time interval.

Five minutes into the second half, Burnley doubled their lead when Michael Keane got on the end of Steven Defour’s cross and made no mistake to head home Defour’s cross into the far corner to make it 2-0.

On the hour mark, Watford manager Walter Mazzarri introduced Nigerian forward Isaac Success, who replaced Nordin Amrabat, as the visitors looked for a way back into the match.

The Hornets pressed for a goal as the second half went on, however, they struggled to get past a tightknit Burnley defence, as the score remained 2-0 after the final whistle.

Burnley ended their three-match winless streak in the Premier League to move into 13th place on the table, while Watford remains in 11th place.
