The big sides impressed in the Premier League on Saturday as the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester City all recorded important victories.

Arsenal finally hit their stride in what has been a troubled start to their 2016-17 campaign as they took the lead from the penalty spot through Santi Cazorla. The Spaniard fired home in the 16th minute after Alexis Sanchez was felled, before Sanchez doubled the lead on the 40-minute mark following great work by Theo Walcott.

Walcott then added a third for the Gunners just before half-time before Watford pulled one goal back through Roberto Pereyra just after the interval. The scores remained unchanged at the close of play.

Chelsea took the lead against Burnley though a superb Eden Hazard solo goal within the opening 10 minutes before Willian added the side’s second after unleashing powerful shot just before half-time. The dominant Blues duly added a third as Hazard supplied a sublime cross for Victor Moses to slide home just before full-time.

Champions Leicester City finally got their season in gear as Jamie Vardy put the Foxes 1-0 up just after the half-hour mark.  Captain Wes Morgan added another seven minutes into the second-half following a corner, before star wing Riyad Mahrez was denied from the penalty spot. Leory Fer headed home after 80 minutes to give Swansea hope, but Leicester held on to record their first win of the season.

Elsewhere, Southampton and Sunderland played out a 1-1 draw, Everton edged Stoke City 1-0, while Crystal Palace scored a last-ditch goal to rescue a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.
