Chelsea has completed the signing of Belgium and Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi for a fee in the region £33-million.

The 22-year-old striker agreed to make the move to Stamford Bridge after agreeing to a five-year contract with the Blues.

A powerful, fast striker, the highly coveted Batshuayi moves to Stamford Bridge having developed a reputation as a fine finisher following spells in France and Belgium, reports the Chelsea website.

The forward was part of the Belgium squad at Euro 2016 and netted with his first touch on his tournament debut, converting a cross from his new Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard during his side’s 4-0 victory over Hungary.

The former Standard Liege forward insists that he is relishing to play in the Premier League alongside his fellow Belgium teammates Hazard and Courtois.

‘I am delighted to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe and embark on the next chapter in my career. I hope I can help Chelsea win many trophies during my time at Stamford Bridge,’ Batshuayi said.

‘Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have told me many good things about the club, and with Antonio Conte coming in it’s an exciting time to become a Chelsea player.

‘This is a fantastic opportunity for myself and my family, I am looking forward to playing in the Premier League next season.’

Batshuayi scored 23 goals last season as well as providing 10 assists even though Marseille finished 13th in Ligue 1.
