Sergio Aguero starred as Manchester City secured a 2-1 victory over Burnley in the Premier League at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.

The Claret took the lead in the 14th minute when a clearance by defender Nicolas Otamendi fell to Dean Marney, who volleyed the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

But Aguero replied for City before the break and completed his brace on the hour mark when Fernandinho set up Aguero, who tapped the ball into an empty net to give his side the lead for the first time in the match.

The Argentine striker played an important part for the Blues by taking seven shots at goal and four on target, with four coming from inside the box while three came from outside the box, while creating one chance going forward

According to TFGSportsClub’s Opta-powered match stats, Sergio Aguero managed to complete 46 touches on the ball after spending 89 minutes on the field.

The Argentine international completed an impressive 23 out of 29 passes on the ball with 31% coming from the right and 22.6% came from the back, as well as 20.7% from the left and going forward.

Manchester City controlled the match and had the best possession (66.2%), while Burnley City could only manage 33.3% of the possession.

Meanwhile, the Blues had more shots on goal than the Claret, producing 12 chances compared to 11 efforts respectively.
