A hat-trick by Jamie Vardy inspired Leicester City to a 4-2 victory over Manchester City at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Foxes got off to a good start and broke the deadlock in the third minute when Vardy latched onto a pass from Islam Slimani before slotting the ball past Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

The home side then doubled their lead two minutes later Slimani set up Andy King, who fired the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box to make it 2-0.

However, the Foxes then extended their lead to three goals when Vardy grabbed his second goal in the 20th minute after receiving a superb pass by Riyad Mahrez before rounding Bravo to slot the ball into an empty net.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s side struggled to create any clear-cut chances in the first half as City went into the half time interval with a three-goal deficit.

English striker Vardy then completed his hat-trick in the 78th minute when he intercepted John Stones’ pass before blazing his effort into the City goal from a tight angle.

City did manage to finally get on the scoresheet in the 82nd minute when Aleksander Kolarov curled his effort into the back of the net after a superb sublime free-kick from 25-yards out.

A few minutes later and City grabbed their second when Kolarov set up Nolito before the Spaniard slotted the ball into the far corner but it wasn’t enough as the Foxes held on until the final whistle to collect all three points.
