Only four South Africans teed off at this past weekend’s Travelers Championship with only Louis Oosthuizen advancing past the cut on Friday.

Oosthuizen had a steady weekend at the TPC River Highland where American Dustin Johnson claimed an impressive one-shot victory on Sunday.

The man from Albertinia, however, settled for a T46 in the end with a score of seven under par – and a payout of $19,869 (roughly R342,542).

Oosthuizen, though, managed to climb one spot on the Official World Golf Ranking and will head into this week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic as the world’s 20th-best player.

Erik van Rooyen, who was not in action in Connecticut over the weekend, didn’t drop a spot but Christiaan Bezuidenhout, also not involved, surrendered one place to 46th in the world.

Branden Grace, one of the three South Africans who failed to make the cut, dropped down two places from 73rd to 75th, while Dylan Frittelli also went down two and is now in 107th position. The latter will not be in action this week after testing positive for the coronavirus.
