A horror back nine saw Trevor Fisher Jnr drop from the top of the leaderboard down to a share of 7th after the third round of the Trophee Hassan II.

Trevor Fisher Jnr and Paul Dunne were tied at the top of the leaderboard as they reached the turn at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.

Fisher Jnr started the day a single shot behind halfway leader Grégory Havret but opened his third round with three straight birdies to reach the summit.

Bogeys at the fourth and seventh threatened to derail his challenge but the South African coolly slotted in his 12 foot birdie putt at the ninth to get back to seven under and take a share of the lead.

He would make another birdie on 10 to go two clear before things went astray for the South African. Bogeys on 11, 12, 14, 16 and 17 with just one birdie on the back nine saw him slip down to join Dylan Fritteli in a share of seventh place on -4 for the tournament.

Fritteli opened with a birdie but gave two back on the seventh as he went out in 37. A solid back nine – with birdies at 10 and 18 – helped him stay within 4 of Dunne.

Dean Burmester repeated his second round 70 to sit in T22 after 54 holes. Jaco Van Zyl and Haydn Porteous both shot 74 on Saturday.

The round of the day came from Italian Renato Parratore as he soared into second place to end -6 after three days, two shots off Dunne’s total of -8.
