World No 1 Dustin Johnson will finally be in action again this week after being infected with coronavirus more than three weeks ago.

The PGA Tour heads to the revamped Memorial Park Golf Course on Thursday for the Houston Open where Johnson will make a welcome return in preparation of next week’s Masters.

The American missed out on the CJ Cup, Zozo Championship and the Bermuda Championship since contracting the virus but will still be one of the favourites when play gets under way.

Johnson will headline a star-studded field for the Houston Open with many players in the same boat to ramp up final touches before next week’s all-important third Major of the year at Augusta National.

Brooks Koepka will continue his return to full form after recovering from a recent injury that ruled him out of the final stages of last season’s FedEx Cup as well as the US Open in September.

England’s Tyrrell Hatton, Hideki Matsuyama, Tony Finau and Scottie Scheffler are just some of the other big names, who will be in action, while Adam Scott will also return to the course after he picked up Covid-19 two weeks ago.
