Germany salvaged a 1-1 draw in a mouth-watering clash against Spain, while Belgium suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at the hands of Morocco on Sunday.

Spain 1-1 Germany

Germany managed to earn their first point in the group after they held Spain to a 1-1 draw at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al-Khor.

Just after the hour mark, Alvaro Morata’s deft touch from Jordi Alba’s cross put Spain ahead, before Niclas Fuellkrug’s goal gave Germany hope of qualifying from a tight group.

Croatia 4-1 Canada

Croatia claimed their first win in the group stages following their commanding 4-1 romp over Canada to knock the North Americans out of the World Cup.

After Alphonso Davies put Canada up early, goals from Andrej Kramaric helped Croatia come back and take first place in Group F heading into their final pool-play game.

Belgium 0-2 Morocco

Belgium were left frustrated after they suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to Morocco on Sunday as the African side edges closer to securing their place in the knockout round.

Abdelhamid Sabiri and Zakaria Aboukhlal scored in the second half to put Morocco on top of Group F with four points, one more than Belgium. In the other game, Canada plays Croatia, which was the runner-up in 2018.

Japan 0-1 Costa Rica

Japan failed to make it two wins in two matches after they conceded a narrow 1-0 defeat to Costa Rica at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan.

Keysher Fuller scored the only goal of the game at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, putting his team on the same number of points as both Japan and Group E leaders Spain. In the day’s last game, Group E leaders Spain will face the worst team in the group, Germany.
