Nick Durandt has died in a motorbike accident near Clarens in the Free State, aged 53.

Durandt reportedly collided with a vehicle on the road between Bethlehem and Clarens on Friday afternoon.

Durandt produced more champions than any other trainer in the history of South African boxing, and retired from the sport after nearly 30 years of training and managing fighters in 2016.

He was the president of the Crusaders Bike Club.
