Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis already has her sights set on qualifying for the 2027 Fifa Women’s World Cup.

South Africa had an historic journey at the World Cup after finishing second in Group G to reach the last 16 for the first time.

Banyana’s journey in the tournament came to an end after getting eliminated by the Netherlands following their 2-0 defeat on Sunday.

However, Ellis admits she is proud of the teams achievement but is now preparing to qualify for the next edition of the World Cup.

“When we came the first time we said we want to come back. [And now again] we definitely want to come back,” Ellis told SuperSport TV.

“I think this team has grown and one or two little things here and there and we could be celebrating now, but good luck to the Netherlands, we wish them well as they continue.

“But [I’m] very proud of this team.”
