Bafana Bafana have announced that midfield duo Bongani Zungu and Themba Zwane have been withdrawn from Stuart Baxter’s squad due to injury.

The South African national team will be without the midfield duo when they take on Libya in their African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier on Saturday.

Amiens midfielder Zungu was stretchered off during their 0-0 draw with Saint-Etienne in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Zwane could be out of action for up to a month after picking up a knee injury during Mamelodi Sundowns’ second-leg semi-final defeat to Cape Town City in the MTN8 on Sunday.

Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana is also a serious doubt and will undergo medical tests before a decision is made on his availability.
