Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki has his sights set on bringing Preston North End winger Thomas Barkhuizen into the national team fold.

The 26-year-old was born in Blackpool‚ England, but qualifies to play for Bafana through his grandfather, who was born in South Africa.

Barkhuizen has been in fine form for the English Championship side this season, having already bagged seven goals and two assists from 17 appearances across all competitions.

Ntseki admits he has some concerns up front, and is eager to bring the winger over if he can get a South African passport.

‘In the attacking force we have Bradley Grobler, but we also need to get somebody who will also be helping,’ Ntseki told the media.

‘This break I will use it to go to England, to speak to Thomas Barkhuizen, to the club and the family and see if he can get a South African passport because we have a concern with strikers. In the local league, we are looking for natural defensive midfielders.’
