Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba has called up Platinum Stars defender Isaac Nhlapo for this weekend’s World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso.

The 26-year-old has been brought into the South African national side as a replacement for the injured Rivaldo Coetzee.

Coetzee suffered a hamstring during Ajax Cape Town’s 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City at Cape Town Stadium in September forcing him to withdraw from the Bafana Bafana squad.

Mashaba’s side will now lock horns with the Stallions in their first World Cup qualifier on Saturday before playing Ghana in an international friendly match at Moses Mabhida Stadium three days later.

Over the course of his career, Nhlapo has featured a total of 32 times in all competitions playing for the likes of Thanda Royal Zulu and Platinum Stars.
