Bafana Bafana will shoot for the Cosafa Cup crown when the side takes on Botswana in the final of the regional tournament on Saturday.

The two sides have met on five previous occasions in the history of the regional tournament, with Bafana going on to lift the trophy twice following victories over Botswana.

In all, Bafana have emerged victorious in three of those five meetings. Furthermore, three of the meetings have gone to penalties following 0-0 stalemates.

‘The morale in the camp is stunning and the boys are excited to be in the final; in fact everybody wants to be on the field tomorrow. It is a great achievement for us to be in the Cosafa Cup final, it has been a while since we last conquered the region,’ Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba told Safa.net.

‘They [Botswana] are an exciting team and they have always wanted to prove a point whenever they play South Africa. Tomorrow’s final won’t be an exception,’ he added.

The coach is also anticipating an exhiltaring game between the sides.

‘Expect an exciting and attacking football tomorrow. We want to give the spectators their money’s worth,’ he concluded.

South Africa will face Botswana at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.

Kick-off is at 18:30.
