In the latest edition of the Fifa rankings, Bafana Bafana leaped into 60th place while Brazil and Germany switched places in second and third respectively.

Shakes Mashaba’s side moved up to 60th position in the world rankings following their exploits in the current World Cup Qualifiers. Bafana Bafana will now go up against Senegal, who are currently in

Bafana Bafana will now go up against Cape Verde, who are currently in 80th position, in their third match Group of the qualifying round.

Germany have now dropped to third place after  being replaced on the rankings table by Brazil in second place with 1,544 points.

Meanwhile, Chile have moved up two places and move into 4th with 1,404 points while Belgium and Colombia have dropped down to fifth and sixth respectively.

Spain remain in the top 10 with 1,166 with 11th place Switzerland closing the gap on the Spanish side with 1129 points.

However, the Argentina side holds its dominance in the rankings by remaining in first place with a points lead of 90 over Brazil.
