The PSL has since revealed that the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane will host this year’s final.

Durban City made their way to this stage of the competition after they beat Casric Stars 1-0 at the Chatsworth Stadium on April 4.

Galaxy, meanwhile, secured their place in the final after they claimed a 4-3 penalty shootout win over Milford FC at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on April 5.

The Nedbank Cup final is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 2, with the PSL yet to confirm a kick-off time for the showpiece.

“Tickets will go on sale today at 11h00 through Open Tickets outlets nationwide and online, priced at R50 per ticket.

“The semifinal action will get underway at Chatsworth Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal, where Durban City will take on Casric Stars on Saturday, 04 April 2026.

“The excitement will continue on Sunday, 05 April 2026, at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in Mpumalanga, where TS Galaxy FC and Milford FC will battle for a place in the final.

Mthombeni highlighted the importance of sticking to the game plan, exploiting key moments, and maintaining composure against a strong, in-form opponent, while also celebrating the nerves and resilience of his players in critical situations, including the decisive penalty shootout.

“I told the boys, they mustn’t rush, be worried, they will have better ball position but the thing we needed to stick to our game plan, if you lose the game with pride I’ll be happy. It’s the first time I play in this field,” Mthombeni told SuperSport after the game.

“What I wanted to say is that whenever we play Betway friendly games we are always better, we will never be dominated like one team score more than two, I won’t even mention names.

“I was out against a very good team, very good coach a team that’s on-form. But I went and did my analysis on Wednesday when they played against Sundowns. I knew that somewhere somehow, they will get frustrated.

“If Pirates cannot get a goal in the critical moments, I know they get more frustrated. I wanted to say to the penalty takers they nearly killed me, I can’t believe I never eat the whole day, I’m going to eat.”

“And today it’s unbelievable how you again give this ball inside for the goal and then you suffer a penalty that’s also completely avoidable. Story of the game is exactly that, ourselves losing 2-0 and had to recover from that result.

“And we did create four very good chances, we don’t score, if we had scored one goal it would’ve been completely different. We can only complain ourselves, there’s not much more to say.”

“Look, we need to be objectively clear on the analysis, the goals that we suffered had to do with the line-up. There are individual mistakes that you obviously cannot do, it’s time to go home and rest please and obviously understand who’s able to be on the level of those matches or not.

“Because we cannot make those mistakes, it means everything is wrong, it’s not just evaluation that we need to do, we need to go beyond that but we also need to understand who deserves these opportunities that we’re giving them.”
