Manchester City were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw against 10-man Manchester United in a Premier League encounter on Thursday night.
Pep Guardiola’s side dominated possession stakes for the most of the encounter, but struggled to break down a resilient Red Devils outfit, who extended their unbeaten run to 24 consecutive games in the campaign under Jose Mourinho.
The encounter was marred by Fellaini’s headbutt on Sergio Aguero in the 84th minute, which saw him receive his marching orders, seconds after getting a yellow card for a foul on the Argentine forward.
The result sees City and United remain in fourth and fifth spot on the table respectively, with one point separating the two sides, who face Middlesbrough and Swansea in their next Premier League encounters.
