Chippa United midfielder Strydom Wambi says his side are aiming to finish higher up the table at the end of the 2016-17 season.
The Chilli Boys are currently placed 11th on the Absa Premiership standings with 16 points, having won four out of 14 matches so far this season.
The 30-year-old midfielder admits that his side dropped in form just before the Christmas break but he is confident that Dan Malesela’s side will turn around in form.
‘We started the season very well, and also as an individual, I settled quicker in the new environment,’ Wambi told the Chippa United website.
‘We dropped a little bit from October onwards in terms of results, even though the team continued to play well. This affected our confidence and of course my game.
‘That is now water under the bridge and we are all looking forward to making 2017, a year to remember for the Football Club. We deserve to be higher up the on table and we will work towards improving the current situation.’
When the Absa Premiership returns, Chippa United will welcome Baroka to the Nelson Mandela Stadium on February 7.
Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
