Kaizer Chiefs defender Rushwin Dortley believes their performance in the Soweto derby will give them confidence heading into their Betway Premiership against AmaZulu on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old played the full 90 minutes during his side’s 1-0 defeat to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby this past weekend.
The defeat saw Amakhosi drop to fifth place in the league standings with 21 points from 15 matches.
However, Dortley is confident his side can turn their fortunes around when they face Usuthu at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
“The Derby was an amazing experience for me, personally,” Dortley told his club’s official website.
“I always watched the game on television and now I got to play in it, but unfortunately the result didn’t go our way.
“However, the team performance was good and we are going into our upcoming game against AmaZulu in a positive frame of mind.
“The team is ready to go and fight for the three points.”
Kaizer Chiefs vs AmaZulu is scheduled to kick-off at 19:30 on Tuesday.
