SoccerClub selects the Premier League Team of the Week as Aleksander Mitrovic put Burnley to the sword, while Lucas Moura stole the show in Tottenham’s historic 3-0 victory at Old Trafford, writes DEAN WORKMAN.
Goalkeeper: Ben Foster (Watford)
The former Manchester United stopper produced a stellar display as he pulled off several top-quality saves to deny Crystal Palace in the first half. Watford went on to score two goals in the second half to win 2-1.
Right back: Hector Bellerin (Arsenal)
The Spanish fullback got forward to great effect against West Ham to help seal a 3-1 win and hand Unai Emery his first points as Arsenal boss. Bellerin set up Nacho Monreal for the Gunners’ leveller after conceding an early goal. The former Barcelona defender then provided Danny Welbeck with a tap in to seal the 3-1 victory late on.
Centre back: Harry Maguire (Leicester City)
England’s World Cup hero carried his national team form into Leicester’s game against Southampton. Maguire was a rock at the back for his side and also scored an injury-time winner at St Mary’s to seal a 2-1 victory.
Centre back: Willy Boly (Wolves)
The defender’s goal, which opened the scoring in the 1-1 draw against Premier League Champions Manchester City, may have easily been chalked off for a handball, but Boly also produced a colossal performance at the heart of the Wolves defence to earn his side a point.
Left back: Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)
Many questioned the Spanish defender’s role under new boss Maurizio Sarri, but Alonso has silenced all his doubters with his stellar early season form. Alonso won the penalty for Chelsea’s opener before his shot was deflected into the Newcastle net to earn a 2-1 victory over the Magpies.

Right centre midfield: Joao Moutinho (Wolves)
The Portuguese veteran had the difficult task of trying to disrupt the Manchester City midfield. Moutinho produced a star showing as he got stuck into the midfield action and provided a wonderful assist for his side’s opener.
Centre midfield: Jean-Michael Seri (Fulham)
The former Nice midfielder was said to be the target of some of Europe’s biggest clubs including the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. He, however, made the move to Craven Cottage and showed exactly why he attracted so much interest with a standout performance in his side’s 4-2 win over Burnley.
Left centre midfield: James Milner (Liverpool)
The evergreen Premier League midfielder produced yet another top-quality display to help guide Liverpool to a tight 1-0 win over Brighton. Milner won the ball to set up Mohamed Salah’s winner in an all-action display at the heart of the midfield.
Right wing: Theo Walcott (Everton)
The former Arsenal man continued his fine form after making last week’s team of the week. Walcott drew the challenge which saw Adam Smith sent off to level the playing field after Richarlison got his marching orders. The English winger dusted himself off to then score the opener. His team, however, only managed to draw after conceding two late goals.
Striker: Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham)
The Serbian striker was the star of the week as his double fired Fulham to their first Premier League win since winning promotion. Mitrovic scored a first-half double after Seri’s early opener to ensure his side led at the break. The striker then had his powerful shot turned onto the post by Joe Hart, where Andre Schurrle was on hand to seal the points from the rebound.
Lucas Moura is the first visiting player to score 2+ goals against Man Utd in the Premier League since Sergio Agüero in April 2015.
