South African star Percy Tau could be in line to face Paris Saint-Germain in their next Champions League Group A match after returning to full training.
The 25-year-old was forced to sit on the sidelines during the international break after limping off in the 41st minute of Club Brugges’ match against KAA Gent in the Belgian Pro League after being caught in a rough challenge.
It was later confirmed that Tau sustained a tendon irritation. He has since returned to full training after missing out on Bafana Bafana’s 2-1 victory over Mali in the Nelson Mandela Challenge this past weekend.
However, Tau will be hoping to mend his way back to full fitness as Brugge prepare to take on Neymar’s PSG side in their third Group C encounter next week Tuesday.
‘I’m am still feeling some pain, but I’ll be going for a scan to see what’s wrong. Hopefully, I can be back soon to help my team in our coming games,’ Tua told the media.
Although he missed coach Molefi Ntseki’s first game in charge of the national team, Tau is backing the new coach and has faith in his ability to lead the team going forward.
‘He is a great coach, which is why he was given the position. Everyone is trying to understand the way he wants us to play,’ he added.
‘We understand him more because he has been around with us. The only difference is that he is the head coach.’
