Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has announced that Islam Slimani will be sidelined for their upcoming Champions League clash with Copenhagen on Wednesday.
The Foxes will be hoping to extend their perfect record in the Champions League when they travel to the Parken Stadium where they face the Lions.
The 63-year-old manager says he will not risk the Algerian striker, but has revealed that Ahmed Musa is available for selection after picking up a knock while netting the equaliser at White Hart Lane.
‘I think [Islam] Slimani is not ready and [Ahmed] Musa is ready,’ Ranieri told the Leicester City website.
‘I don’t want to risk. The physio told me he’s okay but be careful, but why lose a player for one match and then lose him for a month?’
Ranieri says his side are fully recovered after playing for the second time within five days.
‘Everybody recovered very well. When you play in the Champions League, the mental energy is very high. We will find the right solution.
‘Let me see the training session and then tomorrow morning I’ll choose the starting XI.’
The match kicks off at 21:45.
