Thabo Qalinge and Thembinkosi Lorch will miss Orlando Pirates’ opening 2018-19 Absa Premiership encounter against Highlands Park due to injury.
The Soweto giants took to their official website to confirm that the influential duo will be missing after recently picking up injuries in pre-season clashes against Cape Town City and Stellenbosch FC.

The statement on the club’s website confirmed that Qalinge will definitely miss the clash against The Lions of the North, while Lorch’s inclusion is said to be unlikely.
‘The 26-year old suffered a muscle abductor strain in a friendly match against Stellenbosch FC at the weekend,’ the statement read.
‘Section as he is affectionately known, is still experiencing some discomfort and as a result he will continue working on his rehabilitation.
‘Meanwhile, Thembinkosi Lorch is also considered a doubtful starter against the Lions of the North.
‘The 25-year old Lorch limped off the pitch in Pirates’ friendly match against Cape Town City, after sustaining a knock to the knee and has since been receiving treatment,’ the statement concluded.
New signings Vincent Pule and Kudakwashe Mahachi are poised to make their debuts for the Buccaneers, with coaches Milutin Sredojevic and Rulani Mokwena likely to call on the services in the absence of Qalinge and Lorch.
