Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mowekna has urged his side to “knuckle down” as they prepare to take on an unpredictable Royal AM side in their final DStv Premiership encounter on Saturday.
The champions will be looking to bounce back following their shock 3-0 defeat by Stellenbosch FC at the Absa Tuks Stadium on Saturday through a brace by Ashley Du Preez and a goal from Jayden Adams.
Despite the defeat, Sundowns will remain at the top of the league standings after being crowned champions, while Stellies climbed up to fifth place with 44 points from 29 matches.
Sundowns will now turn their attention to their final league game of the season when they travel to the Chatsworth Stadium to face Royal AM and finally lift the DStv Premiership title away from home.
However, Mokwena has urged his side to improve their game and take it to the next level to cap the campaign on a positive note before they face Marumo Gallants in the Nedbank Cup final.
“This week we have to train like a team that has lost 3-0 and train very, very hard and knuckle down and try to prepare ourselves for what’s going be very difficult two games to go before the season ends,” Mokwena told his club’s official website.
“It’s very important that we go to our next matches and try our level best to win so that we end the season on a very good note and to win so that we can prepare ourselves for a very, very difficult match that’s coming ahead.”
Mamelodi Sundowns against Royal AM is scheduled to kick off at 3pm on Saturday.
