Leicester City defender Luis Hernandez admits that he is already feeling positive at the club since joining from Sporting Gijon.
The Spanish defender signed a four-year deal with the Foxes before linking up with his new teammates during his first training session at the Belvoir Drive training facility.
There was a warm welcome for Hernandez and fellow signing Ron-Robert Zieler, and the 27-year-old was suitably impressed with the squad’s togetherness, reports the Leicester City website.
‘When I spoke with Claudio [Ranieri], he told me that Leicester is like a family. Now, I want to play my first game and train with all the players, so it’s good for me,’ Hernandez said.
‘I’ve had my first day here now and I’m really happy to have met my new team-mates. It’s a good group, like a little family, and I’m really happy to be here.
‘The first day back is not easy, but it’s good. The training ground is good for all the players, so I’m happy with it and I feel good,’ the defender added.<
Hernandez, who arrives on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Gijon, made almost 140 appearances for the Spanish side during his four-year stint at the club.
