Bafana Bafana star Bongani Zungu has confirmed that he has been in contact with French club Lyon over a possible move.
The midfielder formed a vital part of the Amiens side last season as he helped them avoid relegation from Ligue 1 after joining them from Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes in August 2017.
Zungu appeared 26 times for the French club and has seemingly gained a number of admirers after putting in some impressive displays.
Speaking to Power FM, the Bafana star revealed that Lyon have expressed interest in acquiring his services.
‘I cannot comment on the interest. I respect Amiens. But they know that I spoke to them. If a chance comes to play with the best and in the Uefa Champions League, I would love to play there,’ said Zungu.
‘I am a professional. I have to keep a level head even if Lyon wants me. I have to be a smart guy. Imagine I speak about other teams and I must go to training on Monday. I am trying to be focused.
‘If I will be at Amiens, I will try to improve from the last season. Try to compete so that the club can attract better players. It would be nice though to play at Lyon with players like [Nabil] Fekir,’ Zungu concluded.
