AmaZulu have confirmed that they have parted ways with veteran defender Marc van Heerden, who has terminated his contract with the club by mutual consent.
The 31-year-old ended his second spell with the KwaZulu-Natal side having made 20 appearances in all competitions for Usuthu last season.
The Gauteng-born defender has also previously played for the likes of Chippa United and Orlando Pirates in which he racked up 166 appearances across all competitions while scoring 14 goals and assisting a further nine goals over the course of his career.
‘AmaZulu FC and left-back Marc Van Heerden have reached an agreement to terminate their working relationship for the coming season on mutual grounds with immediate effect,’ confirmed AmaZulu on the club’s official website.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu General Manager Lunga Sokhela thanked the defender for his contribution to the club after rejoining the club last season from the Buccaneers.
‘We’d like to thank Marc for his professionalism and wish him the best of luck in his future,’ Sokhela told the club’s website.
