Albania secured their first-ever victory in a major tournament and Arlind Ajeti proved vital in defence following his side’s 1-0 win over Romania in their Euro 2016 Group A encounter in Lyon.
The Frosinone defender played the full 90 minutes for Albania and went on to win the man-of-the-match award during his side’s historical victory over Romania.
According to SASoccermag’s Opta-powered match centre, Ajeti completed a total of 32 touches during the match, while winning an impressive three out of four duels.
The Albanian defender played a vital role in defence helping his side keep a clean sheet, while making four clearances, winning one out of two tackles and intercepting a total of three balls in the area.
Going forward Ajeti has completed an incredible 16 out of 18 passes, with 50% of it coming from straight down the middle and 22.2% coming from down the left.
Although, Romania has the best possession of the match (62.3%), Albania made history by securing their first-ever victory in a major tournament.
