Orlando Pirates have confirmed the termination of defender Thamsanqa Mkhize’s contract to bring an end to the player’s ill-fated tenure at the club.
Mkhize only signed for the Buccaneers a month ago following the expiry of his deal with Maritzburg United. However, following the arrival of new coach Muhsin Ertugral at the club, Mkhize has rapidly been shepherded towards the door.

‘Pirates have agreed to give him a letter stating that he can join any team of his choice following the cancellation of the contract that he had signed with them,’ a source revealed.
‘What happened at Pirates doesn’t really sit well with Mkhize but he has accepted that he has to move on with his career.
The player never managed to link up with his teammates at, the source revealed.
‘Pirates changed their minds on him before he even trained with them as during all the time that he was at the hotel that the club had booked him into he only trained in the gym and not with the rest of the squad and also did a medical.’
The midfielder made 19 appearances for Maritzburg last season scoring once.
