Chippa United wing-back Nkosinathi Mthiyane has revealed the likes of Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and Bloemfontein Celtic are keen on his services.
The former AmaZulu man joined the Chilli Boys on a two-year contract following the Durban side’s relegation in the 2014-15 season when his contract was rescinded. Following a fruitful season in which he netted five times from 27 appearances, the player is once again in demand with a number of clubs interested in his services.
‘There have been talks of Wits, Celtic and many other teams like Pirates. They have made an approach and Mpumalanga Black Aces – although they are now sold – but those are the teams interested,’ Mthiyane told KickOff.
‘What comes to my mind is that maybe there is something good I’m doing and I have to strengthen that and, not because those teams want me, but because they see something good I’m doing on the field. It has regenerated me to continue to play well.’
Mthiyane played as a winger at Thanda Royal Zulu but has done well to adjust to an attacking left wing-back position in his time with the Chilli Boys.
‘It was too tough to adjust because as of now I’m a wing-back and I’m playing mostly at the back.
‘When you are placed in that position you must do your duty and excel in it, whatever it is in favour of your preference or not but do your level best and try to excel.’
