Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabiso Kutumela feels confident that he will score goals for the Buccaneers during the 2016-17 season.
The 22-year-old join the Buccaneers from Baroka after signing a three-year contract with the Soweto giants.
During the 2015-16 season Kutumela has scored a total of 18 goals for Bakgaga, a tally that helped Kutumela to the NFD’s top scorer award, helping them secure their Absa Premiership promotion.
Kutumela insists that he has already been working hard to get ready for his first season as a Pirates player, with the help from his former teammates and coach at Baroka FC.
‘I am so excited for next season. I have been working hard. This is what I wanted to achieve. Thanks to my teammates at Baroka and my coach [Kgoloko Thobejane],’ Kutumela told Goal.
The midfielder insisted that if the opportunity arises to feature for Pirates in the Absa Premiership he believes that he will score goals for the Soweto giants.
‘I want to win cups with Orlando Pirates and get goals. I know it is difficult to score in the Premiership, but if I get a chance to play I will score goals for Pirates,’ the South African U23 star added
Shakes Mashaba has included Kutumela in his 20-man Bafana Bafana squad for the Cosafa Cup, with the midfielder looking to cement his place in the national squad for the Olympic Games in August.
