Riyaad Norodien learnt of the deal been Ajax Cape Town and Orlando Pirates for his services via SMS.
The 21-year-old has claimed he had no special knowledge of the deal between the clubs.
‘I’ve read about it, but I’m not aware if they’ve put down an actual offer because we’re on off-season now and away on holiday, so Ajax hasn’t said anything for the moment,’ he told KickOff on Tuesday.
With Pirates confirming the deal on their website this morning, Norodien has claimed he was only made aware of the deal following a text from the club’s chairman Ari Efstathiou.
‘I still have to go in this morning to see the boss,’ Norodien said this morning. ‘I don’t have that much information and cannot reveal anything at present.’
The young winger did admit, however that the move excited him.
‘It’s a dream come true – I’m still in shock!’ he admitted.
Norodien made 22 appearances for Ajax this past season, netting once and assisting on four occasions.
