Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has joined Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan for the 2016-17 season.
The 19-year-old United academy graduate broke into the Reds’ first team last season under Louis van Gaal, making his debut against West Bromwich Albion in November and made 26 appearances in all competitions.
Borthwick-Jackson was voted United’s U21 Player of the Year at the club’s end-of-season awards, having been a key member of Warren Joyce’s title-winning squad, reports the Manchester United website.
However, shortly after, he signed a new contract with the club keeping him at Old Trafford until June 2020.
The England U19 played in the Reserves’ first Premier League 2 game against Leicester City, and will now link up with manager Walter Zenga’s side at Molineux as he bids to gain more first-team experience.
Wolves have already won two and drawn two of their first four Championship games this season, including a 3-1 derby victory at Birmingham City last time out.
