West Ham United and Middlesbrough were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw in the Premier League while Watford and Bournemouth played out to a four-goal thriller at Vicarage Road.
French attacker Dimitri Payet’s stunning solo goal clinched a point for West Ham as they ended a run of four consecutive Premier League defeats following their 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough at the Olympic Stadium.
The Hammers came close to breaking the deadlock in a first half when captain Mark Noble rattled the woodwork with a thunderous strike at goal.
Boro striker Christian Stuani handed the visitors the lead in the 51 minutes after he was teed up new signing Viktor Fischer to score his third goal of the season.
However, the Hammers soon levelled matters through a sublime solo goal from the magical Payet, who dribbled past four defenders to get his side back into the match.
West Ham’s winless streak in the Premier League has now been extended to five matches following their stalemate against Boro.
Meanwhile, Watford fought back twice to secure a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in an entertaining Premier League match on Saturday.
Callum Wilson put Bournemouth ahead in the 31st minute after heading in Junior Stanislas’s cross at the near post.
Watford captain Troy Deeney equalised five minutes into the second half with a low shot, however, the Cherries restored their lead with a deflected strike from substitute Josh King.
However, Watford did eventually find an equalising goal when substitute Isaac Success Ajayi headed home in the 65th minutes as both side’s had to settle for a point each at Vicarage Road.
